Meet Our Dentists
Gibbs M. Prevost, Jr., DDS
Gibbs M. Prevost, Jr., DDS is a native of Knoxville. He knew early in life that dentistry would be his life’s vocational calling. He attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Zoology. He graduated from the Universtity of Tennessee College of Dentistry, finishing with a class rank of second in a graduating class of 133. He continued his Dental education by completing a General Practice Dental Residency at McGuire Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Richmond, VA, with residency emphasis on treating medically compromised patients and learning advanced dental restorative, surgical, and endodontic procedures. Dr. Prevost remains committed to continuing dental education by attending many Continuing Dental Education courses, as recognized by his multiple Tennessee Dental Association Accredited Continuing Education awards, and his involvement in Knoxville’s L.D. Pankey Institute Study Club and Knoxville’s Implant Study Club.
Continued Dental Education is consistent with our goals of treating our patients’ needs in the best way available. We want to be current on new technologies and the most advanced techniques, but that knowledge is always focused on meeting our patients' needs. We realize that “no one cares how much you know until they know how much you care ... about them.”
Dr. Prevost and his wife Susan have a family of six children. Susan is a teacher at West Hills Elementary School in Knoxville. They are deeply committed to Christian life and values, and express their commitment through many avenues of church ministry, missions involvement and community service. Dr. Prevost is a deacon at First Baptist Church, where he has served as Sunday School teacher, missions leader, chairman of several committees and church mission trips. Dr. Prevost has been on more than a dozen medical/dental mission trips to countries where dental care is scarce or unavailable. He has served in Guyana, Costa Rica, Trinidad, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, and the Yemen Arab Republic.
"We give because we have been given much. It is a joy and a privilege to serve."
Grayson Tucker Hunley, DDS
Grayson “Tucker” Hunley, DDS graduated from Halls High School in Knoxville, TN where he competed on the swim team and achieved the BSA rank of Eagle Scout with Troop 506. Growing up, he saw his dentist-dad, Allen Hunley, DDS, greet patients out in public who would approach him and compliment him on how gentle he was and thank him for how much he had helped their smiles. Seeing how practicing dentistry could help so many people in valuable ways, Dr. Tucker worked hard through school to make that dream a reality.
He graduated summa cum laude from the UT Chancellor’s Honors Program while majoring in Biochemistry, Cellular, and Molecular Biology. Later, he graduated from the UT College of Dentistry with High Honors and multiple academic and clinical awards. Next, he pursued an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency through Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, VA. There he studied advanced restorative dentistry under a prosthodontist as well as completed advanced implant surgical training in Bessemer, AL. As the first AEGD resident in Abingdon, he helped establish the Appalachian Highlands Community Dental Center, a safety net dental clinic designed to give patients without insurance high quality emergency and comprehensive dental care with long term follow-up. Now he gets to share his training by teaching at this residency part time.
Serving the community and the world has always been a high priority for Dr. Hunley’s life. In college, he went on an International Service Learning trip to the country of Panamá to help local dentists treat patients in rural communities. After studying Spanish in Perú the next summer while a student at UT, Dr. Hunley practiced conversation with his host family and friends from abroad. In dental school, he went with the UT-Memphis BCM on mission trips to Ecuador for three summers in a row helping translate as a first year student and then treating patients as a clinical student. Now, he finds joy volunteering with Remote Area Medical, an organization that provides emergency dental, vision, and medical care for patients in dire need. While RAM travels to countries all over the world, their HQ is right here in Knoxville and most of their clinics take care of people in our local communities.
Dr. Tucker looks forward to building life-long relationships with his patients and treating them like family. “Just like Jesus has restored my soul’s relationship with God, I want to help people restore their smiles to be healthier, feel more confident, and receive encouragement to take good care of themselves and never forget how valuable they are. I hope that by doing so more people may know Jesus’ saving power.”
